“Dash” wins Runner-Up Prize for the 2015 D. K. Dutt Memorial Award for Literary Excellence

We are pleased to announce that Tina Isaacs’s short story “Dash” was conferred the Runner-Up Prize of the 2015 D.K. Dutt Memorial Award for Literary Excellence on 28 November 2015, at the George Town Literary Festival, 2015 in Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia.


The D. K. Dutt Memorial Award For Literary Excellence was established in 2015, to reward the spirit of creative thinking and respect for sportsmanship fostered by D.K.Dutt in his role as a renowned Malaysian educator..

Delip Kumar Dutt (1929-2015) was an educator and an avid sportsperson; he taught at St. Paul’s Institution (Seremban) and was the Principal of CYMA College (Penang). He was also the President of the Schools Sports Council of Malaysia and many of his former students represented Malaysia in sports, especially hockey and athletics, at international competitions.

The winners and long listed stories/essays will be featured in the next anthology of Malaysian Sports Writing intended to be published by WordWorks in March 2016. Follow Tina’s story page at Dash to keep updated on the anthology’s release.
